Is this opinion MV, or something you have evidence of?

someone claimed that on another forum...he was obviously certain about this...it could be true considering those stats they have tested.

why didn't ford use a tuned version of their v10 in the gt?? They wanted it to be a viper killer so shouldnt they have put a v10 in it liek the viper has. that was it could have probly blown out the viper instead of jus running with it

Not only would it have weighed more, taken more space, complicated the package, and gone against the V8 tradition, but there is no need obviously.

So far, I haven't seen a GT rip a Viper. They have been very close in a lot of ways. It will be interesting to see if all of that excess Ford power can be put to the ground. Once there are some broken in GT's around, the performance figures will be much more telling.

The Viper would hang with it in a straight line. However, it is the GT40 that has garnered world-wide respect in the automobile community. The Viper has been dismissed as American irrational exuberance. And in my opinion, rightly so. SRT-10 vs. a GT40 on the track would probably yield 4-6 seconds per lap in the latter's favor. Its dynamics are superior in every way... its engine is surprisingly sophisticated... and not to mention that AWESOME ad that ocassionally pops up on TV. Makes my heart grow fonder. I have never loved American muscle like the GT40. World-class.
