That 308 was built in 1976 as a standard fiberglass GTB, used as a street car until 1984 in Holland where it was purchased by Howard F. Pynn (AZ) in 1984/1985 and then fully race prepared in USA to IMSA GTU and SCCA GT-2 classes specifications.
Chassis was stripped, made lighter and then strongly reinforced with tubes that became the real structure of the new car. A new large fiberglass body was fitted, only the roof was kept original. The very efficient and expensive Michelotto suspensions were fitted with “knife” anti-roll bars and uniball joints. The brakes are big discs on bowl fitted with 4 pistons calipers. Engine and gear box were made by well know racing Ferraris and Miuras specialist Bob Wallace. The SCCA log book was delivered on the 5-19-1985 and then the
Ferrari was raced in the SCCA GT2 regional championship in 1985/87/88/1989 being constantly upgraded to remain competitive. It won several class victories and became a reputed car. After the end of this racing career it was kept by the owner until 1994 and then he contacted “Auto Toy Store” to sell the car.
In 1995 the car was sold to an English enthusiast with the intend to compete in the
Ferrari Club Championship, the car was completely overhauled and received a new 3,2 liter engine and then raced until 2001. The front end was reworked in 2000 for more aerodynamic efficience and Penske adjustable shocks fitted.
t’s a very seriously prepared car with more than 320 HP very enjoying to drive due to less than 900 kg of weight.
