Morgen abend läuft im ZDF übrigens einer der Filme mit dem Bristol-fahrenden Inspektor Lynley.
Wer mal die (seltene) Gelegenheit haben will, einen Bristol 410 aus den 60er Jahren "in Aktion" zu sehen, sollte also einschalten.
Im letzten Herbst wurde ja der Bristol Fighter T angekündigt. Im Septmeber diesen Jahres sollten die ersten Fahrzeuge zur Auslieferung kommen. Hat jemand nach den Ankündigungen aus dem letzten Jahr mal wieder etwas vom Fighter T gehört ?

Bristol has a good relationship with Chrysler, which supplies its 8-litre V10 to Bristol’s own specifications for the Fighter and (628bhp, normally aspirated) Fighter S models, but had to work on the turbocharger system in its own engineering facility in Florida. The results are startling, and Toby Silverton, owner and engineering force behind Bristol, is adamant that the T is just as docile and tractable around town as the standard car. He also says that it’s ‘incredibly good fun’ and that ‘it gets up to 225mph [at just 4500rpm] very quickly indeed’.
The engine’s internals have been reinforced to cope with the turbos blowing at 10psi, and the six-speed gearbox is thoroughly uprated. Torque is limited up to around 85mph (both for improved traction and for the sake of the 'box), but Silverton says the car has remarkable traction thanks in large part to its 48/52 weight distribution.
The T’s chassis is 30 per cent more rigid than a regular Fighter's, allowing the fitment of stiffer springs and dampers, and a thicker front anti-roll bar.
The Fighter has always been a bit of an oddball supercar, and with the T it’s even more intriguing. However, you’ve got to admire the sheer absurdity of a 1012bhp, 225mph supercar from a tiny British engineering company. If the car verifies its 270mph+ potential at Nardo (and Silverton says it will) then the huge expenditure and massive delays suffered by the Veyron will start to look very silly indeed…
Bristol released more info on its new, batshit-mad, Dodge Viper-powered Fighter. It'll be dubbed the Fighter T, and the final numbers total 1,012 hp and 1,036 lb.-ft of torque (at 4500 rpm) via a couple of turbos and twin intercoolers feeding the 8.0-liter ten banger. The chassis is 30% stiffer than its predecessor, and it's been fitted with firmer springs, lower ride height, stiffer antiroll bar and 19" aluminum wheels. Aerodynamic drag factor's been reduced to 0.27 by a new rear wake diffuser, making a top speed of well over 200 mph probable (now how about some downforce?). Deliveries start in September 2007. Bevor nicht das erste Fahrzeug ausgeliefert wird, kann man nur spekulieren.
Beim bekannten Bristol-Spezialisten und -Händler (für gebrauchte Bristols versteht sich, der Neuwagenverkauf läuft ja nur direkt ab Werk) Andrew Blow steht seit dieser Woche ein überaus seltenes Modell zum Verkauf: das Beaufort-Cabriolet.

Schon gehört ? Die Pressen für das Modell "Blenheim" wurden von Dieben aus der Bristol Fabrik geklaut.
Thieves have stolen part of a production line at a Bristol factory which makes some of the world's most expensive cars, police have said.
Ten presses worth hundreds of thousands of pounds were removed from Bristol Cars' plant in Filton during a raid over the weekend.
The gang is thought to have used a crane and at least two lorries to dismantle the heavy-duty machinery from the site.
The alloy presses are used to manufacture the roof, wing and door panels of the company's Blenheim range, which costs £150,000 for the basic model.
Bristol Cars, which only produces two or three cars a week, warned the raid could hit production.
The presses, which are thought to be tailor-made for the car model, may be destined for China or India, where they will be melted down as scrap.
The company, which sells its luxury cars direct to customers, refused to go into detail about the theft but said the gang had used an angle grinder to cut through the locks of the main gate.
Once inside they could work undisturbed using a crane to lift the presses on to lorries.
A spokesman for the firm said: "We had a number of roof, wing and door panels in stock to keep production going at the present time, but eventually we are going to run out of parts.
"Getting replacement presses cannot be done overnight and it is likely to cause us problems."

Ist verdammt schlimm geworden mit dem Stahlpreisen....da werden Produktionswerkzeuge aus einer Fabrik geklaut... In Deutschland wurden schon "Bahngleise" gestohlen .
Was Bristol betrifft : Die Leute, die da "eingestiegen" sind, wussten genau was sie wollten. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass die Diebe da auf gut Glück nach irgendwas wertvollem gesucht haben...
(Vielleicht tauchen die Pressen auf dem Schwarzmarkt auf und ein chinesisches Unternehmen kauft die und produziert einen
"Blistol Blehnhaim" , dann aber mit kleinen LCD-Bildschirmen in den Kopfstützen und mit einem nachträglich in die Mittelkonsole gequetschtem Navigationsgerät. )
Andererseits kann man heute selbst kleinere Betriebe nachts kaum noch unbewacht lassen.
Da hat Bristol wohl an der falschen Stelle gespart.
Was allein mein Schwager (selbständiger Schlossermeister) mir so erzählt, was alles dreist von Baustellen geklaut wird.
Und dann liest man in letzter Zeit auch immer wieder von Kupferdiebstahl angesichts der steigenden Kupferpreise - sogar ein Radiomuseum wurde überfallen, um die alten Trafos zu stehlen.
Laut offizieller Website gibt es bei Bristol auf Wunsch ein neues Angebot: Den 411 Mk VI.
Wer sich jetzt über die ungewöhnliche Nummerierung wundern solle (es gab ja nur fünf Serien des 411 bis 1976): Es handelt sich dabei um einen Umbau alter 411 auf aktuelle Blenheim-Technik. Die klassische Karosserie wird also beibehalten.
Das obige Bild des Showrooms in London scheint ziemlich aktuell zu sein. Hast Du das selbst gemacht?
Ich vermute, dass es sich bei dem schwarzen Auto rechts um folgendes Fahrzeug handelt, das momentan zum Verkauf steht:
